St. Andrew's Today
Our primary reason for being is service, sharing, and worship.
St. Andrew's has sought:
- to deepen the spiritual life of the parish;
- to focus our ministries as an organic result of worship;
- to provide consistent, sensitive, and discreet pastoral care;
- to stabilize and strengthen the financial assets of the parish;
- to restore the beauty of the building and provide for its future;
- to build a sense of community through education for all ages;
- to promote bible study;
- to foster fellowship;
- to reconcile the parish to the life and ministry of
our diocese.
In recent years we have:
- instituted daily Morning Prayer, a regular
weekday Eucharist with healing, regular intercessory prayer,
and celebrations of the Eucharist on all Holy Days;
- established a Spiritual Life Committee
to address the needs of faith formation and deepening;
- established an annual parish retreat,
and quiet days;
- envisioned and commissioned construction
of a children's chapel which serves the needs of our
grade school children and provides a space for informal
adult worship;
- established "Ice Cream Sunday", a Sunday in the
Easter Season, when all are treated to sundaes at the coffee
hour as a means of teaching children and their parents about
the full season of Easter;
- hired a new Rector and a new Director of Music.
Whether in worship, in pastoral care, in administration, or in
outreach and diocesan ministries, St. Andrew's people and clergy have
sought to be faithful to the generations of servants who have gone
before. We are fortunate to have a vital and growing parish with
members of all age groups.
