Year 2000 Vision Statement
St. Andrew's Episcopal Church
Albany, New York

After a Summer Evening Service
Overview
St Andrew's is a Eucharist-based church, founded on traditional
Anglican worship, stewardship to the community and pastoral care
to all people. We are moving toward the growth of our parish
in members and faith by helping all who enter to Repent and believe
the good news, Remember Christ, Rejoice in the Resurrection,
and Reflect God's glorious light in everything they do.
Our Vision in Motion
As we move toward our vision, St. Andrew's
recognizes our need to achieve certain goals. Through prayer
and works we will strive to:
- Grow from a Pastoral Parish to
a Program Parish, increasing our staff as we grow.
- Moving toward our diocesan goal of doubling membership
by revitalizing our confirmation program and reaching out to
newcomers.
- Expand our commitment to Eucharist-based worship by
improving our already vibrant music program, enlarging our adult
choir, adding a children's choir and gaining more participation
from the congregation.
- Find more ways for families, singles and the elderly
to participate in all aspects of worship, education and service,
increasing the use of their time and talent.
- Strengthen our commitment to stewardship by increasing
the number of pledges and moving our members toward a tithe.
- Expand our Sunday school and adult education programs
into an intergenerational Christian Education program, open to
all.
- Improve our efforts to do God's work in the community
and the world, building on our current programs and looking for
new ones.
