Music

The St. Andrew's Choir provides reverent accompaniment to the liturgy with hymns, psalms, and anthems of musical praise. There is a place for everyone in our choirs. Come make a joyful noise unto the Lord!

The Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is a wonderful group of people that gather each week to lead our congregation in worship. Through the use of various styles of music in terms of anthems, hymns, psalmody, and responses, the choir seeks to bring the experience of Christ to the congregation through the use of music.

All are welcomed to sing with us! We have those that can read music in the choir and those that never read music before joining the choir! Our main rehearsal is on Sunday morning at 8:45 am. We also rehearse on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m.for those who are able to come in the evening. Following our Thursday rehearsal, we gather in the Chapel for a short Compline and pray for those we love.

Music has long been an important part of worship at St. Andrew's.

Dr. Joseph Eppink

Dr. Joseph Eppink
Music Director and Organist

We are blessed to have Dr. Joseph A. Eppink as our organist and choirmaster. Dr. Eppink is a professor of music at the College of St. Rose. Joseph has a gift for choosing music that glorifies God and touches the heart, as well as bringing forth the best from our choristers and pipe organ.

The Russell Field Concert Series

In addition to regular service music with choir and organ, sometimes piano, the musical offering at St. Andrew's includes occasional sacred concerts from an endowed series named in memory of Russell Field, our organist and choirmaster from 1947 until 1976, and recitals given by music students from the College of St. Rose.

Russell Field was Organist/Choirmaster from 1947–1976. His legacy lives on through a fund which was created in his honor. This fund is used to provide extraordinary opportunities for recitals, concerts, and special liturgies. Instrumentalists, soloists, and music are provided for using this resource.

The Russell Field Fund has enabled St. Andrew's to provide special music both during worship and at special events. The next scheduled special event is a concert featuring the Great Anthems of the Church, will take place on Sunday February 27, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. The St. Andrew's Chancel Choir and several guest choirs will perform.
