Overview

The organization for ministry at St. Andrew's rests in various committees and groups.

As an example, the Outreach Committee sponsors the participation of St. Andrew's in the Albany AIDS Walk (to raise funds in the fight against AIDS) and the Albany CROP Walk (to raise funds in the fight against hunger).

Our Ministries

Choir
Provides music at principal services.
Spiritual Life
Sponsors and supports programs for spiritual growth in the parish.
Outreach
Provides leadership for the parish's ministry to its community, recommends grants to charities from parish funds, and advocates for individual involvement in outreach activities.
The Shop
Sells goods donated to the Church at very reasonable prices.
Finance
Oversees the management of the parish's financial accounts, drafts the annual budget, and assists the Rector in preparing the financial section of the annual report.
Facilities
Maintains the building and grounds, organizes general work parties, serves as liaison to vendors.
Stewardship
Organizes the annual giving campaign, offers theological and educational programs to support stewardship throughout the parish.
Congregational Circle
St. Andrew's Congregational Circle is an affiliate of the national group of Episcopalians called Integrity, an organization for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered persons and their friends. It meets occasionally for the purposes of support, spiritual enrichment, education, service to the parish and community, and advocacy for the full inclusion of all of God's children in the life of the church.
Hospitality
photo Organizes and hosts the coffee hours and various special occasions when meals or snacks are served.
Welcoming
Welcomes and assists newcomers in becoming involved in the parish and its programs.
Worship
Supports the Rector's ministry by providing feedback, evaluation and counsel.
Altar Guild
Provides care of the holy table, vessels, and linens before and after services.
Ushers
Attend to the comfort of those attending services.
Oblationers
Assist with presentation of the offering during Eucharists.
Lectors
Assist in reading the liturgy during services.
