Pie Sunday
Sunday
August 15 we will hold our annual Pie Sunday! Each year we celebrate
that round tasty delectation known as PIE. It's easy to participate -
simply bake your favorite pie and bring it to church. We will have all
of the homemade pies out for sampling after the 9:30 a.m. service. Bring
your friends and extra napkins.
A Parish Helping Others
St.
Andrew's is a parish blessed with many people willing to help others.
Our Pastoral Care Committee is looking for volunteers. We want to know
who in can help and how. The tasks for which you may volunteer
vary, ranging from visiting the sick, making and/or delivering a
meal, cleaning or yard work or driving a person to a doctor's
appointment. If you are interested, please contact the parish office or
talk with Susan Anderson after church.
The Sunday Nursery
The
Nursery is open! Parents are welcome to bring children upstairs to the
Nursery during the 9:30 a.m. service all through the summer. The
children will have special activities during the first half of the
service and return to join their families at the peace. Volunteers are
needed to help with this ministry; a sign up sheet is posted upstairs at
the Nursery door.
Help for The Shop
The
Shop is in need of department store type bags with handles - if you
have any please bring them to The Shop (Tuesday 10 - 3, Saturday 10 -
1). Also, if you can volunteer to work in The Shop for a shift,
please contact Wendy Brandow (767-0716), Lisa Walker (439-6017) or call
the office at 489-4747. Please consider helping with this important
parish ministry!
Music at the Cathedral of All Saints
The
Cathedral is offering free half-hour lunchtime recitals Thursdays at
12:30 p.m., following the Noon Eucharist. Since it is the lunch hour
food may be brought into the Cathedral. Featured performers are: August
5th, Julia Knowles, Cello; August 12th, Woodrow Bynum, Baritone, with
Daniel Beckwith, piano; August 19th, Brian Shank & David Luidens,
percussion.
Prayers are requested for Bob Smith
Bob
had surgery last week and is currently undergoing rehab. We want
to ask you to keep him and Julia in your prayers this week.
Thanks!
Hat Sunday Thank Yous!
Thanks
to everyone who participated in our Hat Sunday festivities. Special
thanks goes out to Kelly Bray for coordinating the day - and taking the
pictures! The photo at the top right of the page shows all our
hat-wearing celebrants. Look for more pictures on the Parish Happenings
bulletin board soon.
