Love Kits
This is the
last week for our annual Love Kits collection. These kits of small
personal care items are donated to the Interfaith Partnership for the
Homeless and given to those using shelters in the Capital area. Items
should be placed into a clear sandwich-size baggie. Please include
things like: soap, shampoo, comb, tooth paste/brush, band aides,
tissues, candy bar, etc. Completed Love Kits can be placed in the
basket provided at the front of the sanctuary - the kits have been
collected since March will be delivered to the Shelter at the end of
the week. Contact Lee Cameron for further information 489-2487
Donations
to THE SHOP
Those congregation
members who've undertaken a spring cleaning and find themselves with
unwanted items will be glad to know that donations of good quality
clothing and household items can be brought to The Shop during business
hours (Tuesdays 10 - 3, Saturdays 10 -1). Volunteers to help sort and
tag mechandise are also welcome!
Crop Walk
This Sunday
is the annual CROP Walk to raise money to fight hunger in our community.
St. Andrew's has traditionally had a team of walkers. If you would like
to walk or donate to support a walker please see Inga Nubbemeyer.
A Place to Pray
The Prayer Team ministry has been praying with
individuals in the rear of the church for several months now. The space
at the back of the church is cramped and the ministry is looking for
ideas on how to carve out an area where prayers can be said in a
worshipful and undisturbed manner. One proposal is to remove a few of
the side pews at the rear of the church and create an alcove for prayer.
Comments about this proposal and other suggestions for creating a
prayer space are sought. Please contact the Rector or wardens with your
ideas!
