Agape Dinner
The word "agape" means religious meal shared as
a sign of love and fellowship. In remembrance of the last supper
Christ shared with his apostles, St. Andrew's serves an Agape Dinner
following our Maundy Thursday Eucharist. Traditionally our dinner
consists of meatless soup, bread, olives, cheese and wine. If you
would like to prepare a soup for our dinner, please contact Martha
Iannacone @
siannaco@nycap.rr.com or
439-9329.
Children's Easter Vigil
From the creation story to the Lord's
resurrection, we will tell the story of God's love for his people and
celebrate the Easter Eucharist. Join us this Saturday at 11:00 am in
Carmichael Hall. A pot luck lunch will follow. Come help us celebrate
the risen Lord - ALLELUIA
Easter
Breakfast
St.
Andrew's will continue its tradition of offering an Easter breakfast
between the two Easter morning services again this year. A
continental breakfast will be offered starting at 9 a.m. in Carmichael
Hall and ending just before the 10 a.m. service. Everyone is
welcome! Bagels and cream cheese will be served along with juice,
tea, and coffee. Donations of muffins, other breakfast breads, or
fruit are welcome.
Prayer Teams
A prayer team will be offered each Sunday at
the back of the church during the 10:00 am communion time. The team will
be there to pray with people about their expressed needs. This is a
time for prayer for guidance, healing or any other concerns. Please
identify your prayer concern and we will pray with you. Your prayer
concern is confidential and because we are not counselors, we ask you to
state your prayer need briefly. For any questions, please feel free to
call Mary White, Rich Angelo or Mary Scott.
Love Kits
It's time for our annual Love Kits collection.
These kits of small personal care items are donated to the Interfaith
Partnership for the Homeless and given to those using shelters in the
Capital area. Items should be placed into a clear sandwich-size baggie.
Please include things like: soap; shampoo; comb; tooth paste/brush; band
aides; tissues; candy bar., etc. Completed Love Kits can be placed in
the basket provided at the front of the sanctuary - they kits will
be collected during March and April and delivered to the Shelter at the
end of April. Contact Lee Cameron for further information 489-2487
